This was a quick stop during a busy day around the house, just to get out for a few minutes. This was my normal close to home location that I like to hit early in the spring to gauge what is up and moving as the season rolls along. These early spring posts always start with Common Garter Snakes (Thamnophis sirtalis) and then go on from there. We saw more than this, but here are a few pics.
When we arrived here we had guessed that this stop would produce a fox snake and two milks on top of the garters. We were nearly done and beginning to think our guess was way off when we flipped this juvenile Milk Snake (Lampropeltis triangulum).
The last large rock at the site put us up to our milk snake guess total, and added a Racer (Coluber constrictor)
