Temp/Conditions: 60 degrees, windy, partly sunny in the afternoon

This was a Northern Banded Watersnake found in Linn County on the Cedar River. It was Jordan's first herp trip. Jordan and his father Dave, who is afraid of snakes, went out. They managed to find this and I got a picture of it prior to them taking it back and releasing it. Jordan has a lot of interest in snakes. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a life-long interest and respect for herps.
