I got home from work and Laura wanted to get a late season herp trip in. We picked a den site where we normally see a lot of juvenile fox snakes, thinking this would be a good time of year to see them there, and also that it would be nice to see fox snakes before winter hits. I'll keep this story short.

The site paid off as usual, with a young of year Fox Snake (Pantherophis vulpinis)

We also got a small adult fox snake.

It was just under two feet long.

Right as we were leaving we found a second young of year fox snake.

That was it for the trip. We are probably going to try another site tomorrow, so fingers crossed that the weather holds up!
